Carmina Burana

Composed in 1937, it represents classic music of the Nineteenth century, based an only slightly changed Medieval transcript and on a typically Middle Age melody. Orff always strives to use a vibrant language, in order to create the condition of divine ecstasy so typical of his works. The result is sweeping and remarkable.
